More than an inn.
Harlekin Inn and Pizzeria is a traditional-modern country inn that offers not only food but also accommodation. The beginning of its story dates back to 1994, when the owner Boštjan Schönlieb arrived at four key guidelines for developing his own catering offer.
It was not an easy enterprise, but it produced results. The four guidelines pervade the operation of the Harlekin Inn and Pizzeria on all levels.
Local character
An environment is determined by its people, nature and all infrastructure. We are a part of the environment that should never be neglected. In our work, we try to cooperate as much as possible with farmers, producers, breeders and suppliers from our native Ribnica Valley or from other Slovenian regions. Just as ingredients and drinks we use are domestic, we also want to seek inspirations for our dishes in the local environment.
Our inn is embedded in the local environment. The homeliness that permeates the entire place is also our wealth. Naša naloga je, da bogastvo okolja krepimo in okolju to hvaležno vračamo.
Modernity
Nowadays, people do not have much time, we are constantly occupied, yet we yearn for a break, and more than ever need a healthy way of life. This also includes quality food. Our inn knows how to satisfy the needs and wishes of modern people.
Tradition
Traditionally, an inns was an important places. It was a public space intended for local residents to meet and socialise, and it offered shelter to travellers. By combining the traditional and the modern, we wish to revive old inn customs, local cuisine, food preparation procedures and the traditions of Ribnica.
Naturalness
Man is part of nature. Thus our inn endeavours to be nature-friendly and help guests get in touch with the natural rural environment. We use natural ingredients, natural and autochthonous materials, while we prepare food in a natural and traditional manner.
